Home Caring All-Abilities Program – Expanding in 2026!!

The Home Caring All-Abilities Program exciting new look for 2026!!!

In 2024, the Capras Community Care All Abilities Program gave people of all ages and abilities the chance to be part of rugby league through fun, inclusive activities that focused on health, wellbeing, and social connection. Our semi-professional players took the lead in delivering the program, building valuable leadership skills while creating a safe and supportive environment for participants.

Building on this success, 2025 has seen the program grow in both reach and impact, with more participants joining in and the benefits extending further across our community.

Looking ahead, 2026 will mark an exciting new chapter. The program will expand into four dedicated All Abilities teams, giving participants more opportunities to play, belong, and thrive. A new training hub in Yeppoon will also be established, providing a central space for development, connection, and ongoing support for players, families, and volunteers.

Through this growth, Capras Community Care remains committed to making rugby league accessible for everyone while nurturing the next generation of leaders both on and off the field.

Target Of the Program

Our program is designed for everyone and encourages participation for those persons with a disability who may not have opportunities to participate in structured sport due to a variety of external factors.

Frequency of the Program

The program runs in line with our CQ Capras HPC team draw with approximately 5 games played before the Capras main game across the season. Each team has allocated training sessions in the weeks leading up to the games.

Objectives:

To promote a higher level of well-being by engaging in Rugby League related activities and provide a social group setting that anyone can be a part of which will allow for improved capacity in social settings.

Structured Rugby League Program

Our All-Abilities program is a structured non-contact version of Rugby League. Designed to foster inclusivity and provide opportunities for all, especially individuals with disabilities who often face barriers to participating in structured sports. Running parallel to the CQ Capras HPC team draw, it includes games played before the CQ Capras main game throughout the season. Each participating team is allocated training sessions in the weeks leading up to these games, ensuring that all players, regardless of ability, can hone their skills and enjoy the camaraderie of team sports. By focusing on inclusivity and accessibility, our program aims to break down barriers and create a supportive environment where everyone can experience the joy and benefits of sports participation. Our All-Abilities program is FREE to join and open to all ages.
